A window upstairs opened, and a furry, tannish head with horns and an unruly mop of purple hair popped out. "Go away! Me busy." He slammed the window on her furiously, mumbling to himself something that sounded suspiciously like, "No one appreciate true glory of porn, no..."

Suki had an anime fall. "This place... And what was that about porn?" She went to the next door over and knocked on it.

A tall, thin man with red hair and tiny glasses opened it this time. "Yes?" he inquired politely.

Suki bowed her head. "I'm sorry to disturb you, but do you know where Emiko Sasaki lives?" She paused. "I like your glasses."

He smiled. "Thank you! They're one-of-a-kind, designer-made." He leaned out of the door and pointed across the avenue. "Emiko lives there."

Rod's face turned as red as his hair. "Oh, thank you!"
"Rod, who's at the door?" called someone from inside the house.
"Uh, no one," said Rod quickly.

The Asian girl thanked Rod again and ran across the way, banging on Emiko's door. Suki knew that this time it was the right door.
The door opened and a furry female thing wa standing in the doorway. The fur thing said, "Hey there! I'm Kate Monster."
Suki head-desked. "Is this the building where Emiko lives?"
Kate smiled kindly. "Yeah, she lives upstairs."
Suki laughed in relief. "Oh, okay, that's good."

Suddenly a familiar face appeared in the doorway behind Kate. "Kate, who're you talking to? I heard my name."

Suki grinned and cried, "EMI-CHAN!" She hugged her friend, and Kate had to dodge Suki to avoid getting knocked over.

Suki said hurriedly, "Well I missed you, so I came to see you!" She blushed slightly. "I wanna stay here, but I didn't see a 'for rent' sign, so..." She looked down.

"I'm comin', I'm comin'!" An African-American man walked into the doorway. "What?!"
Suki blushed. "Gary Coleman! Oh my god!" She bowed her head. "I'm a huge fan of yours. By the way, is there an apartment for rent?"
Gary nodded. "Yeah. Right below Trekkie Monster." He pointed.
Suki smiled. "Oh, thanks so much!"
Gary coked an eyebrow. "Em, you show this girl her apartment."
"I'm Suki."
"Okay, then, here's your keys. Welcome to Avenue Q!"

"You're gonna love it," Emiko assured her friend as she led her across the street to Trekkie's building. "Well, once you get past the ceiling leaking and the sounds of Trekkie's porn clips at night and the wonderful view out your window of a brick wall and the fact that some guy who used to live next to you hung himself." She stopped there, though she had way more to say. "So, have you met anyone here yet?"
