That just about every fancharacter these days is a Bladdy Stitch or Angel recolor?
Just why? Why?
people aren't even trying anymore.... it's uncreative unoriginal and blande, it's becoming like the Sonic fandom which i hear is full of recolors being fancharacters.
I don't want to hear the excuse "but not everyone can draw" anyone can draw, you just won't even give it a shot.... A crude drawing of your fan experiment is far far better than a Freakin recolor, if you keep drawing it will steadily improve and you will find you can draw experiments better and better
Socom (Trance now) started out with very crude and cruddy drawings i remember his first ever Socom pic but overtime he has gotten better and better at drawing and now he has developed his own drawing style and he can draw experiments well, Same with Bodie she used to draw very basic pics of exps but has evolved since then, why? because she drew and made an effort.
A crude pic of your experiment form or Experiment character is fine, so long as you also include its key body features (markings color patterns) and who knows someone might draw your experiment for you if you ask them nicely, and that should inspire you even more to draw rather than recolor.
RECOLORS SUCK! period!

I would state, everyone can draw. Hooray? People know that o.0 for you to say "dont use the excuse 'people cant draw'" is rather redundant
anyway for you to say "RECOLORS SUCK PERIOD" is to bash at many people who use templates and screenshots to make their art. Who are you to judge them?

The most obvious reason is because it's easier for them to make. If they can't draw well, of course they're not going to attempt a crude sketch. If they wanted to show people their experiments, that would require showing off said drawing, and a lot of people are so incredibly cruel to those without a certain level of artist talent, they'll be made fun of. So, to avoid that, recoloring templates is a way for them to go. They can probably color in a screenshot fantastically and get compliments on it, whereas their own drawing would just have people telling them that they stink, laugh, etc. I've asked people this question before, and this was an explanation that came up a lot.
Also, it helps them see what their experiment would look like in the context of the show, and is the closest thing they can get. It probably looks better to other people to show off what they'd actually look like in the show, then some drawing.
I've done crude drawings, mostly because I don't have the patience to do recolors. But I've never been good at the Disney style with experiments, so I did them my own way. I actually made the freaking effort to do sketches for people and for my own experiments, fully warning them that I put a manga twist on them because it was the style I found easier and more fun to draw.
And despite that effort, even though those drawings weren't recolors, people complained. They went on their high horse about 'OMG, ANIME EXPERIMENTS, NUUU. IT'S NOT DISNEY STYLE. WHINE SOB' and you know, they were all ' oh yay, lovely recolor' to people who did recolors.
People are never satisfied, so I gave up even trying to draw experiments.
The inability of people to be satisfied and tactful is probably one of many reasons why kids who can't draw experiments well prefer coloring in templates and screenshots to actually drawing experiments on their own.
I mean, one criticism or flame isn't that big a deal. But once you see people whining and moaning about it a lot, and you find out a lot of people are saying that thing, that sort of turns you away from it. Like I said, for the people who can't draw experiments, that's a major reason why they turn to recolors. Yeah, there are lot of recolors and some of them aren't that inventive. But maybe if people weren't such jerks to people just learning how to draw and who aren't very good at it yet, just maybe there would be less.

yeap me and shauni say it best >D
so if you have any further opinions tht bash at everyone who tries to make a recolor just because you dont like it. Try keeping it lodged into your brain, if at all it could fit in there...
