I've noticed how some people will post journals about how they hate a fandom they're involved with because "it's like a cult" or "it's full of jerks" or "ZOMG TEH DRAMA", yet they still somehow find a way to be involved "but it's like a thousand times less than before."

Jeez, make up your mind. You're either in the fandom or you're not. If you don't like it, leave. No one is forcing you to stay.
