YEY FOR THE LAME TITLE.
Digimon ficlets. And any ficlets that involve characters in darkness, like Harvest Moon with phantom skye. Or any characters who ARE dark in themselves. soooo a lot of stuff will be in here.
Title is thanks to Myotismon, so you can bet he'll be in a bunch.
I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THE FIRST ONE IS CONSIDERED CRACK OR NOT.
I am so tempted to use digimon's demented logic of what makes a digidestined and turn it on its ear in order to give this poor 20-year old a future digimon partner that would scare the living daylights out of her. xD
Oh, and I felt more like writing from her point of view...so I could write the struggle, I guess.
It's not meant to be romantic. I mean, he's a vampire and I think he can be pretty. lolol, apparently so did that one lady in the show. But, I'm fairly certain Myotismon's victims were all young women because they made themselves easily accessible prey. No, I don't believe there was anything more to the gender and age choice than easy prey and maybe an ego boost for how ridiculously fast they fell in love with him.
Yeah, the quality of this is crappy. I had much more detailed and better way to word this in mind, but I lost it
srsly, Myotismon and NOS-4-A2 are the ONLY vampires I like. Besides their exception, I prefer werewolves. x3

"Oh, crap."
Tsukiko hadn't realized how well-advised the warnings about the fog had been. Foolishly, she had refused any offers of a ride home from work, and had even gone so far as to take the end of somebody else's shift and lock up the department store for them. At first, the young woman had been confident she knew this area well. After all, she had walked to and from work for months, and had made it safely home at night before. Tsukiko didn't believe this night would be any different than those.
..But she was wrong. The fog was much thicker than she had anticipated, and she had barely made it one block away from work until she had realized something that made stumbling around in this weather even worse.
She was lost.
Somewhere along the way, she'd taken a different path than normal. Usually it would have been no problem to find her way back to the store, given the bright sign that indicated where it was. In this fog however, even the obnoxious, neon light had been hidden from view. And that was something that was starting to cause Tsukiko to panic. She'd never experienced this sort of difficulty before, and honestly, Tsukiko didn't have a clue about what to do.
Her wristhingych indicated it was getting late, nearing midnight. Tsukiko groaned to herself, as she realized that her best friend and roommate was probably worried sick. She'd never been out this late from home before, and with all the monster sightings going on, Hoshi probably thought her friend had gotten eaten by one of them.
" But wait..Wouldn't she have called?"
Tsukiko pursed her lips thoughtfully as she tried to discover why her phone hadn't rung at all, if Hoshi was worried.
" Hrm, maybe she's not worried yet," Tsukiko told herself, " Or, she left me a message and I didn't get it."
The young woman silently cursed her cellphone. It had a habit of missing calls from time to time, and if this was one of them, it wouldn't be a good thing. Tsukiko didn't want to scare her friend to death, and Hoshi already disagreed with her working so late and having no other way home but to walk.
" I think I'll call her, ask for help."
Tonight, she wasn't ashamed of that. The only real difficultly would be pinpointing her location, but if she hadn't been walking for that long, Tsukiko reasoned she wasn't that far away from the store.
" Alright, where are you- oh, here you are!"
She dug around in her purse frantically for a few minutes, panicked at the thought of having lost her only means of communication- until she managed to find it buried beneath a mound of personal items. Sighing inwardly, Tsukiko flipped the top of the phone open, pressing the center button to bring up the main screen. She'd had it on, but for conservation of energy, it normally slid into a mode of hibernation if she hadn't used it for hours.
" Odd," Tsukiko remarked to herself, as the screen displayed no change in any of her inboxes. Shrugging it off to Hoshi actually being reserved or distracted for once, the young woman went to enter in their home phone number and give her friend a call, when she noticed something very unsettling.
She had no bars, no way to recieve or send signals. A cold chill brushed her spine at the thought. Now, it made sense. Hoshi was probably frantically trying to get a message through at this very second, but it would never come. Not until she managed to find a spot where she would get reception.
Tsukiko had a funny feeling that she wouldn't get it. Instinct told her it was this fog, it had to be. Ever since it had come up, strange things had happened. The monster sightings, electronics failing, and young women across the city being found in the streets with sudden cases of anemia. Simply thinking about it all was starting to rile her up.
" Ohhh, no...Please, don't do this to me! I need to send a message, I need to get home!"
Tsukiko's emotions were starting to get the better of her, fear especially. She was torn between staying rooted to the spot and waiting for a signal to come through, and running until she managed to break free of at least some layer of this seemingly impenetrable fog.
A shrill, animalistic shriek nearby finally caused her to make up her mind. Holding onto her cellphone for dear life, Tsukiko whimpered and took off down the street, regardless of the fact she couldn't make out where she was going. At this point, anywhere was better than near the thing that had made such a horrible noise. Maybe, just maybe, if she kept running, she'd finally be able to call Hoshi. Or, better yet, find herself at home or somewhere familiar.
Yes, that was it! If she kept moving onward, everything would be alright. Nothing bad would happen.
Nothing bad would happen
" Oh my!"
Tsukiko was so caught up in her desperation to make it out of the fog alive, that she hadn't been paying attention to where she was running at all. All she had cared about was moving, and for a moment there, had actually been looking over her shoulder to make sure no strange creature was following her. That was why she had been caught so off guard, when she finally turned around and nearly collided head-on with what appeared to be a stationary carriage.
" What on earth?"
Fear still lingered, though childish curiosity had taken over for the most part when the young woman noticed the refined carriage sitting there. It was like something out of a fairy tale, though it lacked horses, or anything to pull it at all. Which only piqued her curiosity more.
Where had this strange carriage come from? Who had left it here? And, more importantly, would they be back? As soon as she realized the carriage had been brought there by somebody, the gears in her head started to turn. If she could only find the magnificent thing's owner, she could seek out their help!
The door slowly opened, revealing that the carriage was not as abandoned as she thought. Tsukiko perked up a little, feeling a surge of hope at the simple fact she wasn't alone out here. Ever-unaware of how much better off she would have been on her own, in comparison to how she would soon fare in the presence of her new company.
"Excuse me, I don't mean to bother you, but I-I..."
Tsukiko suddendly seemed to forget everything she had been trying to say, as a tall figure emerged from within the large carriage. There was something about him that was so...Entrancing. It was a man, tall and lean, with beautiful golden hair and quite a refined taste in clothing. It was clear he was the owner of this curious thing from the way he was dressed; in elegant, aristocratic clothing with a long, sweeping cloak that seemed to be flowing in a nonexistent breeze.
His eyes were a vivid shade of blue, and incredibly penetrating. From one simple glance, Tsukiko felt as if this stranger was peering into her very soul- his gaze able to tear away any layer of protection and find whatever it was he was looking for.
He looked at her with an odd expression. Tsukiko couldn't find the concentration necessary to study it further, and understand what it meant. All that seemed to matter was that she continue to gaze into his eyes, the young woman felt like she couldn't bear to take them away for even the smallest margin of time. Her knees felt like they were about to buckle, and she soon found herself short of breath- alarming, disturbing signs she couldn't rationalize.
And then, he moved closer.
While Tsukiko had been incredibly content to admire this attractive figure from a distance, the second he'd shortened the distance between them, she suddendly felt her stomach lurch. Her fear soon managed to break whatever spell, self-inflicted or not, that had seduced her with this mysterious figure.
Tsukiko, finally able to look away from the man's eyes, now noticed the color of his skin. It wasn't normal at all, it was the color of a corpse. A blueish-grey, reserved for bodies that had long-since been dead. Handsome and elegant as the figure seemed, this new revelation nasueated her.
As if sensing her fear, the figure didn't dare more closer. He stopped dead in his tracks, softening his expression as much was possible on a sharply-shaped face as his.
" I believe you had something to say?"
Tsukiko flinched a little as the figure spoke. Not because his voice was too abrasive for her. On the contrary, she found it even more entrancing. There was something to the dulcet nature of his voice. It was smooth, yet held a hidden intensity at the same time. Tsukiko felt the need to fall for this man or creature, as if the voice were trying to lure her back into the mindset she had been trapped in before the fear had set in.
Yet, at the same time, there was something unwelcoming about it. It was too seducing, too good to be true. Something was horribly wrong here, and the longer she stayed near this figure, the tighter the knots in her stomach became.
His words finally registered, and she clenched her fingers tightly around the phone in her hand, momentarily unaware it was even there.
" I, I'm afraid I'm having some trouble navigating in the fog, and it's late...and I want to go home..."
Tsukiko couldn't bear to look at him as she spoke. There was something about him that was starting to make her feel so weak, so vulnerable, that she nearly burst into tears at the mere mentioning of her predicament.
" I'm..Getting worried, that's all. My phone isn't working either..I just, I can't..."
She nearly broke, choking back a sob. She didn't understand why she was getting so emotional, but the strange man seemed to hold only a sense of understanding.
His beautiful eyes twinkling, an idea of some sort obviously coming to mind, the figure beckoned her forward.
" Do not concern yourself, my dear. Your troubles will soon be over."
His voice was growing more inviting by the second, and his apparent attempts to console her working to override every red flag her fear and common sense were raising.
" Only if I can find an easy way out of this fog," she absentmindely muttered, not meaning to have voiced that thought outloud.
The man walked forward again, smiling warmly, almost friendly.
" I believe I may be able to assist you with that."
A sweeping gesture was made toward the carriage he had emerged from, and for all purposes, Tsukiko felt obligated to take his offer. She seemed to have no other choice, and his sweet words were as tempting as ever.
" But how? There are no horses.."
" There is no need for them."
Tsukiko traced her right index finger over the buttons of her cellphone, still toying with the idea of taking his offer.
" I wouldn't want...To impose."
He laughed, something that made her stomach lurch yet again.
"Oh, it's no problem. None at all."
The same, shrill noise from earlier echoed from somewhere around them, forcing another whimper out of Tsukiko and only strengthening her desperation to escape this area in any way possible.
" Come, let me help you. It will all be over soon."
He extended a hand gracefully, the smile on his face more comforting than his words. Tsukiko glanced down at her phone one last time, and seeing there was still no reception, felt she had no other choice. If he was so eager to help, she might as well take his offer. Even if it would cause unrest in her stomach.
" Please, if there's any way I can repay you," she spoke up, "...Let me know."
At this sentiment, the man's demenaour suddendly changed. His soft and warm facial features shifted immediately, taking on a cold, pitiless appearance.
" You needn't concern yourself with that little detail either," he laughed cruelly, " I intend to take what I need from you."
Tsukiko, realizing her gut had been right about this man all along, attempted to pull herself away from him..But it was too late. Already, he had a taut grip on her right arm, from the invintation she had taken, and no amount of struggling seemed to loosen it in the least. He could have easily grabbed onto the other arm and kept her entirely still at this point, but because he hadn't, Tsukiko was left to determine this fiendish character enjoyed some aspect of the struggle.
"Please, let me go! I don't have any money, I don't-"
" Silence," he hissed, frightening her into obedience, " It's not your worthless money I'm after."
Tsukiko's face paled, as that left her with only two options. She would have protested either of them, but was too terrified to speak up.
" I need to feed. And, since I lack a large quantity of digimon to choose from, you'll have to do."
Tsukiko was confused. What was a digimon? And what on earth was he prattling on about? For a moment, she believed he must have been some sort of mental patient who had escaped incarceration in an Asylum.
" Although, that's not necessarily a bad thing," he added, eyeing her carefully, " Human blood is quite satisfying, especially with a dash of fear."
" What are you saying?!"
Tsukiko was smart enough to understand what he meant by that, but in this situation, it was an inevitable thing for the victim to demand the answer to. She had an idea, but she hoped she was wrong, and that somehow...this was all just a cruel joke. Or, a bad dream.
" The look in your eyes says you already know the answer to that."
He parted his lips in a large, wicked grin. Though he seemed to assume she knew where this was going, he flashed his trademark fangs nonetheless, perhaps in an attempt to send the young woman into a panic that would spike her blood with tantalizing fear.
She made a noise that sounded like a cross between a choked scream and a squeal, and immediately restarted her attempts to wrench herself from his grasp. She now knew what fate awaited her, and more than likely, what had happened to his other victims.
Myotismon simply laughed. It was hard to draw out the feeding process, as it only made him hungrier for her blood, but for the sweet taste terror would bring to it, he was willing to wait just a few more minutes.
" Let go! Please!"
Her pleas fell on deaf ears. Nobody would hear her screams in the thick fog, and even if they did, nobody would come to her rescue. Not until it was safe, not until morning. She, like all the others, would be found lying on the road the very next day and sent to the hospital. Those foolish humans would ignore the obvious signs of what had happened, and his struggling victim would be yet another case of ' sudden anemia', for lack of a better explanation.
Like the others, she would live. The amount he always drained was never enough to be fatal. Damaging and cause for concern, yes, but his previous victims still lived. Thus, he had no pity for her at all.
Though, even if his bite had been fatal, it was just as unlikely he would feel any semblence of remorse from this attack. When he conquered this world along with the digital one, the feeding would not stop. The taste of human blood was an experience unlike taking data from fellow digital monsters. He had developed a liking for it.
The idea of control over a world such as this, having millions more that could satiate his needs, the taste of fear and blood...it made him hungrier, to the point he was unable to restrain himself any longer.
Ignoring the woman's pitiful screams of protest, Myotismon quickly wrapped his cloak around his victim- a trick that he'd found had worked quite well, through practice. Maybe this victim hadn't stayed entranced with his facade like the others, but it made little difference. She was still easy prey, like all of them. And their blood was so much sweeter than their male counterparts, always laced with higher levels of fear.
Tsukiko kept up a valiant effort to fight back, desperate to break free before the vampire managed to take any of her blood. All sorts of things ran through her head, mostly her desire not to end up like the other victims. She now understood what had happened to them, and had no wish to end up a victim like the rest.
As soon as that cloak wrapped over her, however, she knew it was a lost cause. As his grip grew tighter, and his face closer to her neck, she started to lose her will to fight back. But then, in the end, made one, last effort to break free.
It did nothing. Instead, it only encouraged the vampire to hold on tighter, before plunging his sharp fangs into her delicate skin. The pain was unbearable, her initial reaction to scream out in reflex, but in the first few seconds her body had grown so weak, nothing came out. Instead she was forced to silence, tears of pain welling up in the corners of her eyes as his bite and feeding burned like flames licking her skin, and she felt the blood and energy leaving her body.
Tsukiko pressed down on one of the numbers of her phone hard, before the loss of blood and trauma finally sent her into unconciousness.
The phone hit the ground first, as her hand had lost the will and energy to hold onto it. It went entirely ignored by the vampire as he pulled his fangs out of his latest victim, and tossed her aside like a candy wrapper. Licking the traces of blood off of his mouth, Myotismon returned to his carriage, bidding it to move along to his hideout. He had fed quite well tonight, and would again tomorrow- until he had found and destroyed the eighth child.
And, after that, he would feed again. On new victims, and revisit old ones. That was the beauty of letting them live, after all. Human blood was able to replenish itself, like digimon's data, if he didn't take enought to fully destroy them.
His victims, human or digimon, were regarded as nothing more than mere posessions. Playthings to be used again and again, until he finally grew tired of familiarity and disposed of them for good.
As the carriage pulled off into the distance, Tsukiko groaned weakly in her sleep, not stirred even by the sound of a frantic voice coming from her cellphone, from the number she had called seconds before blacking out.
" Tsukiko? Tsukiko, are you there?!"
It was Hoshi.
************
lulz, that's what you get for being ENTRANCED by a vampire digimon!
>__>; I'd so be entranced. but I'd bring garlic too!
lulz, Tsukiki ended up in the hospital, and just another victim like she never wanted to be.

THAT REALLY SUCKED.
