What heroes and villains do you like writing for?
I'm talking Canon-wise. I like most people's ocs, but I'm curious what types of hero and villain canons people write for. Specifics. Ones that you write for a lot, or enough to feel like you know them well.
I'm bored, so just posting random spam. xD
I'LL GO FIRST.
I seem to enjoy writing for the villains I liked enough to fangirl over. =F
The list includes:
Villains : Myotismon from digimon, Perfect Cell from Dragonball Z, Hexxus from Ferngully, Sideways, Megatron, and Starscream from Transformers Armada, Barricade from Transformers 2007 Movie, Starscream, Blackarachnia, and Blitzwing from Transformers Animated, Shere Kahn from Talespin, Atilla and Hun from Pokemon, Scarecrow, Catwoman, Ragdoll, Harley quinn, and poison ivy from Batman the animated series and Nolanverse movies....lulz, characters like that.
Heroes and Heroines: Optimus prime from any incarnation, Gatomon, angewoman, and Angemon from digimon. Baloo from talespin, Bumblebee and Jazz from any Transformers incarnation, Steven Stone or Riley from pokemon, Batman, Batgirl, and James gordon from Batman. OH, and batty koda and Krysta, or however you spell her name, from Ferngully. And last, Jade from Beyond Good & Evil.
lol, there's more. but it's your turn peoplez. Just remember, we're talking FANDOM characters, and canon ones.

Um, okay. Slash fics do, but this thread is about what canon hero and villains you write for. Not a discussion on anything else. x3;

I like writing for characters I like. xD; I know that's very vague, but I don't really have any criteria as to who I like to write for.

Hrm, well if you ever do a fanfic mini, you should do one about one of those villains who didn't get enough justice done. x3
And that's okay bodie, I get what you mean. I'm the same way. xD;

Sometimes old nicknames are hard to get people to drop. Almost everyone calls me Bodie now, but I still have a few friends from early 2006 who insist on calling me Breezy. I don't love the name, but what can you do, eh? I just let it slide.
Okay, I dug through some fanfiction and this is what I got. Characters I love to write for include Sir Robin (Spamalot), Violet Beauregarde (CatCF), Depp-Willy Wonka (CatCF), Cogsworth (Beauty and the Beast), Lumiere (BatB), Tomoyo (Cardcaptor Sakura), Eriol (Cardcaptor Sakura), Nakuru (Cardcaptor Sakura), Christmas Eve (Avenue Q), Rod (Avenue Q), and Bonnie (Lilo & Stitch).
As you can see, with the exception of maybe Violet, Nakuru, and Bonnie, all are my favorite favorite characters. xD

I love Tomoyo. She's my favorite CCS character by far. <3 But all my L&S stuff is so old. Andno one reads my non-L&S stuff... except you. xD

Wait what? Why is Jax called Devon? I never even knew that... I changed my name to Devon because IRL a friend and I made up fake names for ourselves. She was Ivy Ryan Birches and I was Devon Olivia Taylor. *shrug* Sorry if I stole your name Jax or anything... And if you're confused, Nexus, you can just look at the Sakura icon? Don't think Jax has one of those...
I LOVE well-written crossovers, but I agree that a whole lot of them are crappy. DX

Ah, well I don't think that's gonna be a big problem here, since Jax goes by the name Jax on this forum. x3
Crossovers are interesting at times. But I can't write them well. xD I've tried and failed multiple times.
=F remember any fics you've actually liked, Nexus?

Heh, you do sound kind of critical, Nex... I tried to write a BatB/L&S crossover once but never got past the first few paragraphs. I also tried to write a DP/L&S one, but lost interest after a chapter. I did have whole plots planned out though and experiment captures and everything.

Mags is an awesome writer. Love and Confusion is one of my favorite fics of all time. Leroy/Stitch? I like slash, just not really paired with Stitch... I see him as kind of a straight guy. Plus Leroy has NO personalityyyy.

Mags is a pretty good writer, but so are you Bodie. < :
heh, I'm weird about slash. I like it if it makes sense or if the author has constructed a feasible plot. I really dislike slash, and any romance in a story really, if it's just rushed, sloppy, illogical, overly-instant, and nonsensical. And unfortunately, a lot of slash fics I've seen in fandoms I read more often...tend to be just people throwing two completely straight guys together in order to write a lemon with no plot whatsoever.
But I have read slash I do like, so I try to keep an open mind with it.
xD I could never write slash though. It's weird, maybe I'm hypocritical. I'll like some of it, I totally support gay rights and all, but I just can't bring myself to role play or write slash, unless it's canon between two characters. But, then again, I'm that way with writing romance too- so I guess it's just the overall lack of knowing what's accurate and what isn't.

I have a weird thing where some fandoms I ADORE slash and others I can't stand it. For example, Lilo & Stitch and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are two fandoms where I really think slash is unnecessary (with the one exception of the very cannon Jumba/Pleakey x3). I think it's because I liked them both at a young age and couldn't really comprehend slash back then, but I've never really had a taste for Wonka/Charlie (it's just scary) or Stitch/Leroy or anything like that. However, give me Spamalot or Tsubasa and I'll pair every character with someone of the same gender in two seconds. <3 Honestly I seem to like slash in universes where it makes sense. Spamalot talks about gays in the actual show, and CLAMP mangas have a huge amount of gay and bisexual characters so it seems to work. However, in kids' stuff it just doesn't seem to fit in. What really annoys me is when people are like "YAOI IS MY LIFE" and "OMG I <3 YURI." Does that mean that even if two characters have nothing in common and are a terrible couple, they'll like them together anyway just because it's "yaoi" or "yuri"? If two charries are a good couple, I like them together, whether it's gay or straight or lesbian or whatever. I really wanna make a deviantART stamp that says "I don't care if it's yaoi or yuri or straight. A couple is a couple!"
...LOL that was a rant if I ever saw one. xD I've been wanting to say all that for a while now though. And aww, thanks to the I'm a good writer too thing. <3

You's welcome. And that's not a bad rant, you bring up good points. I think that whole ' I grew up with it' is probably one of the factors that make me uncomfy with slash in certain forums. lol, and it probably does mean it! Just like those people with that opinion who will disregard anything if it has a straight pairing.
OR WORSE...they're all for ocxcanon if it's slash, but if it's hetero, suddendly the oc is A MARY SUE/GARY STU. I really can't stand that. >< It's made me really really dislike slash in a few fandoms, because the more common and popular rabid fangirls/writers will knock on ocxcanon if it's malexfemale, but not if it's malexmale. or they'll also pick on femalexfemale slash, and I'm all 'whut. so you support ONE gender in gay rights, but discriminate the other?'
And then they're all 'well I'm a girl and it's gross.' and it's just...dude., how do you think straight guys feel if they ever read your stuff?
*rambleramble*
heh, you should make a stamp like that. IT WOULD ROCK.
