Lumi sighed deeply and heaved himself back onto his barstool. "FINE. Waiter, another... another sake, please." If he couldn't win Akemi over, the least he could do would be to drunkenly forget her...

Princeton smiled good-naturedly, hiding a scowl behind his seemingly kindly face. "Hi! I'm Princeton. Suki and I met when she lived in New York a few years back, yeah. So... you'd be... her HUSBAND?" He said the word "husband" like some people say "fuk." Or something.

"G-get a divorce then," Princeton said, sounding slightly surprised to hear the words leave his mouth. "O-only if you want to of course," he added quickly, hoping he hadn't gone too far.

Just then the doors to Ichiraku slammed open and Shikamaru moodily sat down next to Akemi, not even noticing she was there. He put his head miserably in his hands, cradling it there while pleading the waiter for a sake. "My wife commited suicide; I need something, anything, to numb the pain..."

Shikamaru stared. *OMGAKEMIAKEMIAKEMISHE'SALIVE!* But because of how estatic he felt, he barely registered the strangeness of her comment. "A-Akemi," he croaked, "you're alive." And suddenly he half collapsed on/half hugged her, exhausted and delighted.
