"Wow, this place is great!"
The gang arrived at two joint rooms connected by a door in the center. Fay beamed and threw himself onto one of the beds, laughing playfully all the while. Kurogane grumbled and threw down the bags on the bed's left side.
"So, we'll be sleeping in here, Kuro-ron?" Fay asked him, gazing up at the ceiling instead of meeting his eyes.
"Sure, mage," muttered Kurogane in reply.
Mokona hopped onto the bed beside Fay and grinned. "Mokona will sleep with Fay and Kurogane too! The three of us will have a sleepover!"
Fay laughed and grabbed Mokona in his arms. "Oh, Mokona, won't that be fun? A sleepover with Kuro-pipi! Ha ha!"
Kurogane groaned.
Meanwhile in the next room over, Sakura turned positively beet red as she saw the single king-sized bed waiting for them. "Um, um, Syaoran-kun, you can sleep on the bed, and I'll--"
"Sakura-hime, you're a princess," Syaoran said with a chuckle. "You deserve a good night's sleep. I'll sleep on the floor."
"But... I don't want that." Sakura bit her lip and continued only hesitantly. "Um... I guess... we could sleep... together?"
Syaoran smiled, but his heart started beating faster. "Okay."
"I-I'll sleep all the way over on the right side," Sakura said quickly, "and you can sleep over on the left, Syaoran-kun. O-or I could take left, and you could--"
"I don't care." Syaoran laughed. "Come on, Princess, it's not such a big deal. Fay-san and Kurogane-san are making do with only one bed, right?"
Sakura tried to smile. "Right. I'm sorry for causing you trouble."
"Don't apologize all the time," Syaoran corrected her. "Everything is fine."

"Sonic strolled (at 50 miles per hour) over to the desk counter and showed them his room key. He had gotten a free room whenever he wanted as one of his rewards for defeating Chaos. He was at the room momentarily. Once inside he sat down on the bed. What does Tails know about Amy that I don't? How could he possibly know how she really feels? Sonic didn't sleep very well that night. (MUAHAHA I am so evil to him)

THE NEXT MORNING
Sakura stretched and rubbed her eyes. The first thing she noticed upon awaking was that Syaoran wasn't in the bed anymore, but then, he'd always been an early riser. She glanced at her bedside clock, expecting to see that was eight or maybe eight-thirty.
"Oh, no!" The clock read ten forty-six ((which is the time as I write this xD)). She threw herself out of bed and ran into Kurogane and Fay's room. Their bed was empty as well. Not even Mokona had stayed.
"Oh, darn it! I overslept again!" She then returned to her own room to find a note taped to the lamp. In her anxiousness, she hadn't noticed it before. It was signed with Syaoran's name, and she was surprised to find that she could read it perfectly. It struck her as odd that Syaoran's country and the Kingdom of Clow used the same writing system. Hadn't she and Syaoran come from completely different worlds?
Dear Sakura-hime...
I'm sorry for not waiting for you, but Mokona kept complaining it was hungry, and eventually Fay-san convinced us all to go downstairs for breakfast. Go down and get something to eat. Kurogane-san and I will probably have gone off to look for your feather by the time you wake up, but I told Fay-san to wait for you in the lobby so you wouldn't be lonely.

Sakura clutched the note in her hands. No! Not again! Syaoran and Kurogane were working so hard to find her feather, when it was her responsibility! She liked Fay, but she felt so useless just waiting with him. The only time she'd helped to find her own feather was in the country with Whirlwind-san, and even then it was really Fay who had returned it to her. Useless! She was completely useless!
Downtrodden, she set off for the lobby to find Fay.

Sonic was already up by seven. He ran around the world a few times (Seriously. That's his morning jog.) and ended up bak where he started, which was also how he felt about his thought process. "Tails, you have confused me." he mumbled.
"About what Mr. Sonic?"
Sonic jumped.
"Huh?! Oh, it's you Cream. Nothing, it's my own problem."
"Is it about Ms Amy?"
"Ummmmm...look! A butterfly!"
"Where?!" Cream squealed with delight, fascinated by the insect fluttering around her." When she turned around again, Sonic was gone.
"This is not the best weekend." Sonic was thinking aloud. "Maybe I should... no, that would never work. What are you and Cream up to Tails?"

Fay met Sakura with a smiling face in the hotel's lobby. "Good morning, Sakura-chan. Did you sleep well?"
Sakura hung her head. "I overslept again. And I missed Kurogane-san and Moko-chan and Syaoran-kun before they went out." Her hand subconsciously shot to her skirt pocket as she said his name, the place where she kept his letter tucked away.
Fay noticed this subtlety. After all, he'd helped Syaoran write it. "You can make sure to see them when they get back, Sakura-chan. The puppy pair has some serious business to attend to today, and you know how Kuro-daddy can get when we waste his precious time."
Sakura laughed at the two old jokes: Kurogane being a puppy, Kurogane being a daddy. Their little family unit had once been defined by Mokona: Kurogane as the father, Fay as the mother, Sakura, Syaoran, and Mokona as the children. Though Sakura thought that it was slightly inaccurate. Kurogane and Fay felt like parents, but Syaoran was far from a brother to her. She cared for him more than she could ever care for Toya, and in a different way too...
"Did you have breakfast?" Fay asked politely. Sakura shook her head. "Then let's go get something." Fay stood up. "The breakfast buffet has very good sandwiches." ((and cakes... xD))
MEANWHILE
Syaoran, Kurogane, and Mokona arrived at Westopolis.

"Hello, this is Westopolis, and here you can find GUN HQ. GUN stands for the Guardian Unit of Nations, but they don't do a very good job and we have to do their work for them most of the time. You can't really blame them though, they are trying." Sonic had arrived next to the group and was talking for the sole purpose of clearing his head. "I would say we should go see the commander and let him know that Eggman is up to something."

"When you said gun I was thinking weapons," Kurogane said loftily. "Is this Eggman someone we're gonna have to fight? 'Cause I got that part covered."
"Let's go see the commander," Syaoran added.

"Eggman has robots that fight for him, but they're more of o nuisance than anything else. Let's go." They made their way to GUN headquarters and managed to get inside to see the commander.
"Hello Mr. Hedgehog."
"Don't call me that. Eggman's planning something. Just thought you should know. See ya." (Sonic doesn't get along too well with GUN since they have tried to arrest him multiple times for stuff that wasn't his fault.) Once thy were outside again Sonic gat an idea. "We should split up, I'll try to find Eggman's base, and You guys can search for anything we might need."

Syaoran frowned. "I think it would be better if we stuck together, Sonic-san. Kurogane-san and I don't know our way around this country or where the Eggman lives. We don't even know what we need to find him."

"Huh? Oh yeah, right. I was thinking of something else. All right then, we'll go together. Eggman's base is usually hidden in a-"
"Sonic! We need to talk NOW!!!!!"
"Amy? What are you talking abou- AHHHHHHHHH" Sonic was being dragged off by his arm. "Hey! Let me go! I have Important things to do! Eggman is trying to take over the world again." At the mention of Eggman's plot, Amy dropped Sonic's arm.
"Great! Then I can come with you!"
"No, you-"
"I'M COMING WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!" Amy brandished her hammer above Sonic.
"Ok then, it looks like we have a new team member. As I was saying, Eggman usually hides hi bases in jungles. The nearest jungle is in Adabat."

"Well, here we are. The best thing to do when looking for an Eggman base is to check trees to see if they're fake. If they are, you've either found a base, or you're on the set of a cheap movie."

SOMETHING
Syaoran closed his eyes and felt the auras of his surroundings. Kurogane had taught him to do this in the Country of Oto, and by now he was almost an expert. He could sense the difference easily between living and nonliving creatures. Stumbling blindly forward, he ran his hands along tree after tree, each of which's auras proclaimed them to be alive. But finally, as he approached the last one, he felt something nonliving. Upon opening his eyes, he found a tree that appeared just like any other. But it definitely gave off the feeling of a nonliving thing.
"Sonic-san! Kurogane-san!" Syaoran called across the jungle. "I think I've found it!"

"All right. Stand back." Sonic rolled into a ball, spinning faster and faster. Suddenly, he sped forwards into the tree. The door opened and Sonic led the group into the base. An army of robots awaited them. "All right! This is where the fun begins!" Sonic dashed into the army and took down robots left and right.

A delighted, evil grin spread across Kurogane's face at the arrival of the robots. "White pork bun?" Mokona, who had been up until now sleeping, poked his head out of Kurogane's cloak. "Gimme my sword."
A magic circle appeared under Mokona's feet, and a long, beautiful sword flew out of its mouth into Kurogane's hands. With lightening speed and precision, Kurogane sliced through three robots at once and proceeded into the battle.
Syaoran, not quite perfect at using a sword yet, used his own brand of combat. Seishiro-san, also blind in his right eye, had taught Syaoran to kick and punch with as much fury as Kurogane's sword.
